Invitation to Participate

The production of the world's first shipment of liquefied natural gas from the Arzew GL4Z plant in 1964 began Algeria's unique heritage within the LNG industry. Forty six years later the world of LNG returns to its birthplace as the 16th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG 16, comes to Oran, Algeria from the 18th to 21st April 2010.

Algeria remains a dynamic world leader in LNG and is proud to be the host of LNG 16. The Government of Algeria is providing support at the highest level with HE, The President of the Republic and myself both sitting on the LNG 16 Committee of Honour. We are also working with the LNG 16 National Organising Committee (NOC) and Sonatrach to provide delegates and exhibitors with the direct flights, ground transport, event security, visa facilitation etc., that are an integral part of an event of this stature. In addition, significant new infrastructure is being provided including a new Convention Centre and five star hotels in Oran.

This is the second time - after LNG 4, Algiers 1974 - that this prestigious global LNG event has come to Algeria. Much has changed during the intervening decades and many of the opportunities and challenges facing the LNG industry in the future were undreamt of at that time. However, the International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas has been a constant industry resource over the years, allowing the world's best to come together to debate and plan the future of the LNG sector.

On behalf of the Government of Algeria, I invite your company to participate when the industry next gathers at this global forum and we look forward to welcoming you to LNG 16, Oran in April 2010.

HE Dr Chakib Khelil
Minister of Energy & Mines, Algeria

LNG 16 - The Global Forum

Every three years LNG leaders gather at the industry's global forum, the International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas. For over four decades the LNG event has been the benchmark for the industry, earning respect from all LNG stakeholders.

By any measure, the most recent event, LNG 15 Barcelona, was an outstanding success. The total attendance of 5,000 participants from fifty five countries delivered a twenty per-cent growth on the previous LNG event.

Most importantly, LNG 15 attracted a quality audience of senior decision makers and specifiers - through the excellence of the conference program and the size and diversity of the exhibition - providing exhibitors with outstanding networking and business development opportunities.

Opportunities Through Growth

Since its emergence as a fuel source in 1964 the LNG sector has experienced impressive growth and this is expected to continue at around eight per-cent annually well into the next decade. At the same time the dynamics of the LNG market are changing with factors ranging from diversification of supply to the increasing availability of shipping capacity.

LNG 16 host nation Algeria was there at the beginning, as the world's first commercial producer of liquefied natural gas, and remains at the forefront of the LNG industry. With 20 MTPA, Algeria is currently the world's fourth largest exporter of LNG and its growth continues with plans to extend its capacity to 30 MTPA by 2012.

Strong growth in the LNG sector means new opportunities and relationships for your company and the decision makers responsible for delivering this growth will come together in Oran, Algeria for LNG 16, 18th to 21st April, 2010.

Delivering the Buyers

The LNG 16 Conference and Exhibition enjoys an enviable record delivering delegates who are senior decision makers for purchasing and specifying. Behind the success is a carefully orchestrated marketing campaign to identify and attract the world's best from the LNG sector.

The LNG 16 National Organising Committee combines their extensive industry databases, from established and emerging marketplaces, with top level association and media relationships to underpin a high impact campaign targeted at your key customers and prospects. At the previous event LNG 15 total attendance grew twenty per-cent, delivering 5,000 participants from fifty five countries.

In response to exhibitor input, and to further enhance the effectiveness of the event for your company, LNG 16 will expand the opportunity for exhibitors to personally invite key clients who are not conference delegates.
